It's been a while

It's been a while since we have posted anything. I know - quite pathetic of us really. We are such slackers, full of sloth and venom.

So, what has been going on since we posted our warmest holiday wishes? Quite and lot, and not much at all. I'm starting to think that is how life will always be, but I'm hoping that I'll be wrong.

We spent the holidays split between three places... Boston, then Lake George, NY, then Hanover, NH and back to Boston. We had the fun of seeing my family (parents, sister and family) and then heading to Hanover (Home to Dartmouth) for a few days of silence in the woods. After that we made our way back to Boston for one last night with my parents.

"Where are all the pictures?" you are wondering. Well, um, er, that's where my slothfulness (but not quite) comes in. I took loads of digital pictures over the holidays because we had a number of fun things to document. One of the most fun was playing the new "survivor" game. And here is where we have a contest....a special prize to the first person who posts a comment *(see "comments" option at end of this post)* ...and names the winner of the Survivor Game. You may choose between the 7 players...Ryan, Liz, Patty, Ed, Stacy, Meghan and Daniel.

We also made fresh pasta and got in some nice long walks to the partially frozen waters of Lake George - all kinds of good fun.

AND...I did document it all on my camera. When we returned to Boston, I got very serious about working on my two final papers due in, oh, about two WEEKS. These paper were each around 20 pages in length and required extensive research. SO, that's why the pictures are STILL on the camera but I'm not entirely slothful.

The papers are now done, and I'm in recovery mode. Ryan too - he is so glad that his wife isn't tied to a desk anymore and that I'm helping make dinner and do dishes. It was his one-man show for a while. It must have been wretched....I'll find out for myself when he starts his PhD.

In other news, Ryan got a new job at Harvard Divinity School and he is working as the Faculty Search Coordinator. This is RIGHT up his alley because he gets to read about the faculty that are candidates, read some of their publications and do all sorts of behind-the-scenes work. It's like getting to be inside the black box. When he finishes that PhD, maybe he'll have a leg-up because he understand how the process works. At any rate, it is nice that he is doing something both interesting and valuable to him in both the present and the future.

So that's about it! We've got about one more week of "freedom" until I start up with my classes again. The good news? I'll be done with all of this stuff (hopefully) by this same time next year. And then I can help with the dishes and dinner and sweeping and, hey, wait a minute! That doesn't sound like fun....maybe I ought to consider a PhD myself........
