I know it's mushy but....

I just can't help but tell you how great Ryan is. He isn't expecting this post on the blog at all - and in fact, neither was I! Sometimes love is just that way - we get swept off our feet a little - doing something like posting a message on a public blog about how wonderful your spouse is.

Let me tell you how great Ryan is. I know - you think you've got this all figured out because you know him and have for a few years or maybe even a lifetime. But I'd like to give you a few glimpses of him from my perspective. And remember, these are just a few things I love so much about him. I just don't have enough space to write it ALL down!

We'll start with humor. The guy is funny. I didn't always think so at first, but that was because I just didn't understand his humor. Sometimes he would make jokes that I just didn't get...and then little by little, he really started to crack me up. I'm probably not supposed to show this picture, but I can't help it because it was one of the funny things he did most recently.
It was laundry day and I was "all business" about getting things put away. Ryan knows how to make me lighten up - the ghost performance did the trick!

Another thing about him is that while he can seem somewhat timid around kids, they seem to be drawn to him. It's kinda strange in a way because he isn't a performer and I always associated outlandish goofiness with what kids like. But they also like to have books read to them:

Right here is where I'd like to show you a picture of Ryan hanging out with my niece and nephew - but I don't have anything digital! Grrr. Maybe later when we go see them at Christmas!

I'll have to show you a different picture of Ryan with a little tyke instead....

Ryan is the kind of guy you want as a friend - not only because he is not afraid of doing some work...

...like helping people move

But also because at the end of the day, he's also the best person at Dance-Dance Revolution.

It turned out he was the best....and it was his first attempt! At least he's willing to share his secret tricks.

Speaking of his qualities of friendship...I think it is safe to say that he is as loyal as they come. I guess there is no way to prove this than to take a leap of faith and see what happens over time. But there are some others who could vouch for him, not just me.

Another thing I love about Ryan is that he really enjoys getting to know people...and this involves talking AND listening. These two fellas on the left can tell you about long talks with Ryan. I could too, but since I'm the one doing the bragging you should take the word of someone else.

Ryan likes adventure...and he likes to share it with others too! There are stories of scary hikes up tall mountains in bad weather (he'll have to tell you about this story involving one Christopher Jeffreys.)

tales of boa constrictors...

...but there are also more tame stories of fishing trips with his Dad, and now, fishing trips with me

Thankfully he wants to share a lot of these adventures with me because I do like adventure!

I guess I'm kind of mushy about him, but it isn't just because we're newlyweds. It's because he's an incredible person. I just wanted to make sure that everybody else knew it too.
