The best part of that weekend was that several friends who'd moved away from Boston were *also* in town. A reunion of sorts occurred.

After my official birthday weekend Ryan and I went to NY to see my sister's family. We got to take Meghan and Daniel for the day and shuttle them from their opening day softball/baseball parade to a leisurely picnic we had together in the park. Then off to Meghan's first softball game of the year. She's quite the pitcher!
Meg is quite a pitcher and has just gotten signed on to double games since one of the other pitchers has a broken arm. While we are all sad for the other pitcher we are of course, happy about this good fortune for Meg to keep getting experience!
Next post will be about my surprise birthday gift from Ryan over the weekend. I celebrate a "birthday season" rather than just one day. Certainly more fun not just for me but for everyone else too.
To give you an idea of what is ahead, the surprise was that Ryan had entered us into a contest called "Urban Dare" that essentially sets up scavenger hunts around different cities. We had a fantastic time and we even beat our personal goal. We wanted to finish in the top 20, but we made it into the top 15!! Not bad when you're competing against 59 other teams.
Urban Dare may be coming to your city...check out their website: http://www.urbandare.com/
Stay tuned.
