Working from home

Today is a glorious day. Sure, I turn 31 today, but even more wonderful is that I am working from home today. And I am doing it from my back porch.

There are bees buzzing, the sun is shining, and while there are some really noisy trucks on Beacon street at the moment, it is in general, MUCH more pleasant and much LESS distracting than working at the office. Don't get me wrong, my coworkers are lovely but sometimes they have a lot of talking to do in my direction....and I have a lot of working to do on the computer.

So I am literally working on the back porch....

And here is MY"view" of the outdoor office. Not bad!

As I was working away, I happened to lean back, and look up to find that I was sharing office space!!

Yes indeed, I intruded onto the office of a couple of sparrows who thought I was a sight to behold. I can imagine why - I haven't showered, I'm drinking hot cocoa (Ghiradelli's w/hazelnut) and I've set up a ramshackle office using patio furniture.

The more I tried to see their nest, the more this bird (I've named her Vice President bird) decided to check me out.

She was a bit camera shy. As soon as I took her photo the VP pulled her cute little beak behind the edge of the roof.

And then VP checked me out again, sticking her neck out just a wee bit farther:

And then she decided to get some aerial views while in flight. New perspective is a good thing. A brief circle and she came back. That's what executives do...they travel and then come back to the office.

THEN, she decided to get a second opinion - I guess one VP needs to consult with other VPs. And while you can't tell from the photos, this is just one of her many associates that came swooping in to see if I was really working or just taking the day off because I turned 31.

Time to go inside before they dive bomb me and I have to explain why there is bird poop on my keyboard.

Hope your day is as glorious as mine! Happy Friday to you and Happy Birthday to me.
