I was going to post about my haircut....

But instead I will stop focusing on ME for a moment. For those who care, the haircut is fine though it needs some tweaking and it doesn't actually look like photo #1 which won the contest.

Instead I am hoping to spread some info shared by my friend in D.C. who is working to help a friend of hers in the Phillipines raise money for a blood marrow transplant needed by her son. Confused yet?

How about a photo diagram?

I know this could seem like a scam at first glance but this does not fall into that category, as I hope the photo diagram above illustrated. I'm writing on behalf of my friends Vickie and Benji (honest friends with deep hearts who live in D.C) who are working on behalf of their friends living in the Phillipines, where Vickie and Benji both grew up. That's where the buck stops - not a long lost uncle in Nigeria you never heard of who recently needed a kidney after having a bicycle accident.

If you have a moment to read Vickie's blog she has given a quick summary about Jack, her friends' son, the disease he has (fanconi anemia), and the bone marrow transplant he needs quite badly. You can read Vickie's blog at http://cochinillo.blogspot.com/
or you can go straight to the post about Jack at:

Vickie has also created a donation site where people interested in contributing money may do so. The fundraising site will be open until Christmas. Vickie hopes to raise $5,000 to help Jack with his bone marrow transplant.

Ryan and I are going to chip in....and we hope that some of our friends and family will join us as well! If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them - but you should also feel free to contact Vickie through her blog if you want more info. As you will see when reading her blog (I hope you get to explore some of her other posts as well) she is quite candid with an irreverent sense of humor that I love. In short, she is a delight.

Thanks for reading,
Liz
