I have only had the pleasure of seeing Sting in concert one time back when I lived in California. But let me tell you it was one of my most exciting concerts I've been to. Not because of the exceptional venue (Shoreline Amphitheater) but because it was STING. I mean, this guy is electric - great music, great lyrics, and not so bad to look at when he sings.
I do have to say that the best concert I have ever been to was with Ryan when we went to see Ray LaMontagne for the first time. He was just gaining popularity so that meant he was still playing in small clubs. We saw him at the Paradise in Boston and it was a show I will never forget.

Rarely do I find that a musician is as good as their recorded music - but Ray LaMontagne was actually better. When he stepped on the stage I have to say he wasn't much to look at, but as soon as he opened his mouth to sing the opening line of the show, my own mouth dropped open. He has a remarkable voice.
I thought I'd have the opportunity to see Sting again - the big news is that he has reunited with The Police for a world tour. This is amazing news for many. Unfortunately I heard it too late. The Police will be playing at the Fenway (that's right they use the famous ball field for big concerts nowadays) but tickets are sold out.
It would have been an amazing show I am sure - and who knows, maybe I'll find a clever way to get access to the concert. All I know is that when I saw the promotional picture, the classic phrase from Sesame Street came back to me like a slap in the face.

It is clear who has remained in the celebrity scene and who has not....I hate to say it but if Ryan or I can look as good as Sting when WE are 56, I will be pretty pumped. And I will be putting my photo on the blog all the time.

I saw Sting in concert in college. Amazing. Yeah, and easy on the eyes. I mean, my husband is hot, but ahem, Sting has weathered well.
