Neuroscience is AMAZING

So - this will just be a quick post b/c I am short on time. But I have to say that Neuroscience is absolutely fascinating. I am taking a course at HGSE in which we are getting an overview of neuroscience and will later take our new information and apply it to a lesson that we design. There is some really interesting stuff that I never knew.

If you're interested to read my thoughts during the duration of the course - here is a link to my blog (required for class) where I will be posting ideas, questions and other interesting info I come across: http://elizlincoln.blogspot.com/

Here is my most recent discovery which I find incredibly interesting - Face Blindness. Yes indeed - there are people who cannot distinguish the difference between faces. The medical term is Prosopagnosia.

Here are two sites that explain it really well:

Neuroscience is cool and your course sounds interesting. JoAnna suggested a while back that I read The man who mistook his wife for a hat which was all about people with missing parts of their brain that you didn't even know you had, like proprioception, your sense of where your limbs are - a woman whose arms would just wave randomly because she didn't realize what she was doing. Weird.
