One of the things I haven't seen too much of around these parts are some "alternative folks" like we always got in Cambridge....or back in Missoula.
The other day our friends E&B were mentioning they were part of a little "bike gang" back in the land of their origin (either New Haven CT or the Bronx - not sure which place). So I knew they'd be excited when they heard about SCUL - the bike gang in Cambridge.
SCUL isn't like a gang of hoodlums but rather a collection of people interested in modifying old bikes to create something entirely bizarre yet ridable.
Apparently SCUL stands for "Subversive Choppers Urban Legion" and they look like they're always out for some fun. Their various "missions" seem to involve food, riding their bikes to the final destination and in some fashion, earning points within the organization.
Maybe we can start a chapter here. Maybe. We've got a lot of time until the snow melts...just enough time to collect some spare parts and a welding torch.

dude, some of these guys live on our street, their bikes are amazing! this sounds like a very interesting project, definitely worth pursuing in hoosie-land!
